Since before, music has already that certain power to entertain us. It has been part of our lives.  More so, it may be the medicine that our soul longs for. Because of this, he was then called to be the first unsigned Canadian rap star had a shot to be featured on BET as "New Joint of The Day".

Right before signing to a major record label, Drake was already famous to many people.  Thanks to his Room for Improvement and Replacement Girl, two mixtapes which made him an instant star. His voice became very popular among all music lover.

Eventually, he had another mixtape entitled  "So Far Gone" in 2009. Like the other two, Drake just posted this song in his blog. At that time, the album was already made available for free download and just within the first two hours, it had a total of 2000 downloads. Among the most popular singles were Successful, and Best I Ever Had. Because of the overwhelming response, it had its way to the radio eventually.

His first official debut album entitled  "Thank me later" was released on June 15, 2010. There was a little delay on the releasing of the album due to some reasons since it was supposed to be in the year 2009. Drake again was given the title of the first hip-hop artist who sold the most record in one week thanks to his album "Thank me later".
